Solitary Beauty

“Solitary Beauty” is one of those paintings I think really draws you in. The lone sunflower with its dark brown center and vibrant yellow petals stands out so sharply against the soft, blurred background of other sunflowers. The way the petals blend into brown hues adds a lovely depth and richness to the flower.

I wanted to create a sense of standing right there in the sunflower field, with the main flower in sharp focus and everything else gently fading into the background. It’s a technique that highlights the intricate textures and colors of the sunflower, making it almost three-dimensional.
