I entered into a competiton whose only instructions were: Draw a boss who demands respect.

Instead of going the usual route with a human CEO, I decided to have a bit of fun and went with an old-time mobster theme. Meet my ‘boss’—a tough-looking pug with a fedora and a cigar. The stern expression and deep wrinkles give him that classic mobster vibe, like he’s seen it all and isn’t easily impressed. The dark background and subtle lighting really highlight his commanding presence.

I ended up getting 2nd place out of hundreds of contestants, so it seems like others appreciated the humor too. It’s a playful take on the idea of authority, blending a bit of whimsy with that unmistakable air of respect.
