Dracula and Castle
Regular price $214.99This piece has quite the backstory! My nephew, Adam Honeycutt, sparked the idea for this version of Count Dracula and his castle. I can’t recall the exact conversation, but I remember sketching out my thoughts quickly. This project became one of my first mixed media endeavors and remains one of the most intricate I’ve done.
The pencil and pen strokes, with their sharp, thin edges, give Dracula a sinister look, while the powdery clouds in the background add an air of mystery and allure. After our chat, I watched a YouTube video about various actors who have portrayed the undead man—villain, hero, anti-hero, comedian—and this image just seemed to pop into my mind.
Normally, I don’t venture into the macabre, but sometimes it’s just fun to explore different themes! If you know someone who loves goth or gothic art, renaissance and medieval themes, or just has a fascination with vampires, this piece would be a great addition to their collection—or perhaps the start of one.
