African Sunset

Have you ever found yourself mesmerized by something you see? I did. I was watching an old episode of Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom and near the outro, the camera focused on a sunset until it slowly faded. I wanted to recreate it and this is the result.

This painting captures that serene moment when the sun dips below the horizon, casting the sky in warm hues of orange, red, and yellow. The solitary tree with its twisted trunk and lush green foliage stands as a stark silhouette against the vibrant sky. A few birds flying near the tree add to the tranquil atmosphere, making it feel like a peaceful end to the day.

I tried to capture the way the sunset made everything seem calm and beautiful. It’s a reminder of the simple yet profound moments in nature that can leave a lasting impression.
