Peace (εἰρήνη), the way it's used in this passage doesn't primarily mean 'without struggle or division' (though these are also inherent in the meaning). Rather, it means being tranquil, calm and even serene because of our relationship with Jesus.

Further, it conveys the meaning that we will work with others in a quiet way that will build them up (edify)... not worrying about how 'we' will get compensated (i.e., complimented, outward words of thanks, etc.).

What better way is there to live than with calm confidence and the peace of mind that everything will work out as it's supposed to and that we can be part of the solution?
