I was commissioned to do this as a project for an equine therapy center for women who have escaped abusive relationships. They are going to sell prints to raise funds to support the women. "Mane Support" is what I've titled the original painting.

With their name not included, here is the write-up that may accompany the painting:

In the serene countryside, a non-profit equine therapy center offers a haven for women who have escaped abusive relationships. This sanctuary, where the gentle bond between horses and humans flourishes, provides a unique form of therapy that fosters healing and empowerment. The center’s mission is to create a safe and nurturing environment where survivors can rebuild their lives, regain their confidence, and find solace in the companionship of these majestic animals and others who have undergone similar trauma.

The therapy sessions at the center are designed to harness the therapeutic power of horses. Through activities such as grooming, riding, and simply spending time with the horses, women learn to trust again and develop a sense of self-worth. The horses, with their intuitive nature, offer unconditional support and understanding, helping the women to process their trauma and build resilience. The warm, fluid connection depicted in the artwork symbolizes the profound healing that takes place at the center.

Beyond the therapeutic benefits, the center also fosters a sense of community among the women. They share their stories, support each other, and celebrate their progress together. This collective journey towards recovery is marked by moments of joy, strength, and hope, much like the vibrant colors and harmonious lines in the image. The equine therapy center stands as a beacon of hope, guiding women towards a future filled with possibilities and peace.
