Joy (χαρα) is more than general happiness (though it's also this) - it's the delight and celebration of what God has done for us by being merciful with us in forgiving us of that which separates us from Him; it's the sheer glee that comes from waking up one more day - so that we can show God's love and kindness and mercy and teach people they can be happy instead of lost and sad and miserable or without direction.

True joy isn't often seen nowadays but when it is, I hope they see on my face and in my countenance what I've tried to show through this portrait - a total abandonment to Jesus' love!
