In this painting, I’ve tried to capture the raw energy and freedom of these magnificent creatures as they gallop as a group, their manes flowing wildly with the movement. I decided to make the palette of colors fairly natural—rich browns and subtle grays with hints of white that suggest a dance of light across their powerful forms.
