Sea faring vessels are the stuff of fantasy and non-fiction alike. There's something about a fully rigged ship (from frigates and whale ships to clippers and even yachts) that brings to mind adventure and business, pleasure and dread.

While a lot of people were introduced to full-rigged ships while watching Pirates of the Caribbean or Master and Commander but these ships have been around for years.

I created a similar painting for a lady who had a dream about a ship-rigged with several large sails and it's become a good seller with several people writing and telling me how much they enjoy it.

An 11-year-old child who saw me working on this at a local coffee shop sat down with me and told me all about the history of such ships - he was more knowledgeable than anyone I've ever met. So, of course, I sent him an 8x10 print as a way to say 'Thank You' and to encourage the young man.
