War
Regular price $202.00Inspired by Lascelles Abercrombie’s poem “The Box,” which was recorded by John Denver, this piece reflects the chaos and indiscriminate destruction of war. The poem tells of a box bound with chains and labeled “Kindly do not touch; it’s war.” When the box is opened, its contents—guns, flags, tears, horror, and death—spill out, causing havoc without regard for who or what it affects.
This artwork captures that sense of chaos and the indiscriminate nature of war. The gradient of colors from deep blue to yellow, combined with the abstract figures made of smoke-like material, evokes a sense of mystique and fluidity. The red and black hues with hints of white suggest the turmoil and destruction unleashed.
100% of the profits from the sale of this piece will be donated to the American Red Cross, supporting their efforts to provide relief and assistance in times of crisis.
