Dandelion Eye Abstract

When I began this piece, I was inspired by the Red Seeded Dandelion, which is normally fluffy and white. As a child, we called them ‘little wishes’ because when you hold one by its stem and blow on the flower, they float away.

As I started drawing the pappus (the wispy flowers) and coloring them, others noticed an ‘eye’ forming. I hadn’t seen it at first, but once I did, I embraced it. By combining my figure with an acrylic paint pour technique, I created what you see here—a dazzling display of brilliant colors that form the Dandelion Eye.
