I like to 'get lost' when I'm somewhere new. So, I simply go for drives without any specific destination in mind. I take roads that are unmarked and follow paths I happen upon - all because I want to be surprised by what I find.

One December, towards dusk, I found myself driving slowly down a dirt road - my tires crunching snow and leaves and twigs as I went. I had been following a bird I'd seen flitting from one tree to another - trying to get a good photo. I had stopped and took a shot with my camera when I looked to my right and something similar to this!

I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. The snowman had melted, so I had to 'reconstruct' him. But the blue sky peeking through the treeline juxtaposed by the barn light shining on a Christmas Tree and the path leading to both being lit by strings of colorful lights made a memory I knew I wanted to capture.
