About a block or two from where we live, there’s a cow who is always looking over its fence towards our horses. While I’ve never seen her wearing a hat, I thought she’d look good in one, so… here she is!

Bonnie Blue is quite the character. Like most animals, she’s curious about people. But unlike most cows I’ve met, she’s friendly enough to approach the fence line and lets me pet her. It’s such a sweet interaction that I look forward to every time I pass by.

Since I’m not sure what snacks are safe for cows, I’ve never visited with treats. She doesn’t seem to mind, though, and always seems happy to see me. I like to think she just has really good taste in people.

This painting (done in a semi-impasto/acrylic style) captures her curious and friendly nature, with a whimsical twist of her wearing a hat. I hope it brings a smile to your face and a bit of that friendly charm to your space.
