Beneath the Stars

This piece took a LOT of time due to all the dots of 'light.' There were times when I thought about stopping but, I'm glad I didn't because the end result is, in my opinion, spectacular. I can almost feel the cold night air; hear the breezes as it brushed over my skin; and taste the glass of tea I had with me as imagined a basket using the moon as it's hot air balloon.

Creating this painting was quite the journey. It’s a night scene, really alive with colors and textures. The sky is a tapestry of blues and reds, almost like a cosmic river of stars. It’s dotted with countless points of light, each one a wish placed by people from all over the world.

The trees below are silhouetted against the vibrant night sky, their bare branches reaching out like they’re trying to touch the stars themselves.

This piece is all about that sense of wonder we get when we look up at the night sky. It’s about connection—to nature, to each other, to the universe at large. There’s something timeless about it; those stars have been around for eons before us and will continue long after we’re gone. Yet here we are, part of it all for a brief moment in time.

"Stars, like dew drops, adorn the whole of the universe and their light travels with us through time as we walk towards eternity. If only we'd stop reaching for them until we have reached out to our own kind, then we too would know what it's like to shine."
