Autumn Cottage

This painting was inspired by a place that holds a lot of fond memories for me. Picture a charming stone bridge on the left, arching gracefully over a lively stream. The water flows swiftly, creating these delightful curls of white foam as it dances over smooth stones.

Without a doubt the bridge and the stream that flows beneath it is my favorite part. I could spend hours simple walking around, looking at the bits of moss, tiny frogs, and the occasional fish. Dangling my feet over the bridge or sitting on the shoreline while my feet were washed over and tickled by the water... the memories are simply delightful.

On the right side of the stream, there’s this old stone cottage with a thatched roof, partially covered in climbing vines. It always seemed like a safe haven to me, a place where you could let go of all your worries and just be at peace. The autumn foliage adds a vibrant touch, with trees and leaves in shades of orange and red, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

In the background, there’s a hillside covered in trees, with a gentle mist or low clouds settled above, adding a touch of mystery and serenity to the scene. It’s a place that feels both timeless and comforting, like a little slice of tranquility captured on canvas.
